We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for an Attorney/Lawyer in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The role primarily focuses on employment-based immigration cases, with a strong emphasis on the PERM process and review of petitions and applications. This position offers a challenging and engaging work environment where you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with employment-based immigration cases, including drafting, preparing, and filing of immigration applications, briefs, and legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and gather relevant information from various governmental agencies.
• Manage assigned cases with limited supervision, monitor various timelines for clients including Visa Bulletin, Processing Time, Case Status, and visa expiration dates.
• Maintain open communication with clients as required.
• Docket and maintain information on case management software.
• Utilize various software and tools such as Adobe Acrobat, LexisNexis, and Microsoft Excel to manage and organize case data and client information.
• Handle billing functions and calendar management as needed.
• Address and resolve customer complaints and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist in claim administration and provide support in handling employment-based immigration matters.• Possess a professional degree in law (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active membership in the state Bar Association
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Excel
• Experience with case management software
• Familiarity with LexisNexis for legal research
• Expertise in management systems
• Ability to handle billing functions
• Experience in briefing and calendar management
• Proficiency in claim administration and complaint handling
• Knowledge of employment-based immigration law
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High level of professional ethics and integrity
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
